In 53 at bats, Joey Votto has 20 hits, 3 doubles, 4 home runs, 12 runs batted in, 7 runs, 12 walks and 8 strike outs with a .377 career batting average in San Diego Padres PetCo Park.
There are a few fans out there that are concerned about Joey Votto’s RBI total this season for the Cincinnati Reds. He has 47 RBI in 392 AB this season. He has a .319 BA with a .429 OBP which is pretty close to what he usually gets every season. His RBI total is low but I think he is still doing a great job coming off the injury and should produce just like he does every season. Having him and Shin-Soo Choo playing on the team has made it a lot of fun to watch this season, that is for sure.
This has brought on a discussion through out this season that Joey Votto should be moved to the number 2 spot in the batting order behind Shin-Soo Choo. I personally think he is in the right spot in the batting order and should remain there. The number 2 man in the order should be someone who can get the leadoff hitter over to scoring position for our number 3 and 4 hitters.
I am hoping for a huge game for Joey Votto today and would love to see a 4 for 4 day.
