Cincinnati Reds did nothing during the trade deadline and many fans are hurt and confused. I, on the other hand, am very happy with the news. This means they will have room for one Billy Hamilton at the end of this season. I know he is not playing the way many had hoped in his first season at AAA Louisville but he is only 22 years old! 22 years old and already in AAA? I am not worried one bit. He has a .251 BA and a .309 OBP in 390 AB. 64 SB with 12 CS. Remember now, there are a lot of veteran catchers and pitchers trying to make a name for themselves again in AAA. Some guys that have been in baseball for more years than Hamilton has been alive. They know all the tricks and have maybe even invented a few of them.
I really want to see what the kid can do on the Reds and if we have to wait, so be it. But with no trades at the deadline it brings on the question if Hamilton will be called up later this season. If Hamilton and Derrick Robinson can be put into the batting order the Reds might be able to play a different kind of baseball. Get them on, let them run, get them in baseball!
