Top MLBlogs of 2011

Since starting 2r2d I have come across many great MLBlogs and I just wanted to congratulate every blog that made the top list for 2011. There are many great blogs on there so please take some time and go check them out at MLB.com Blogs Central. Some blogs that should get a huge pat on the back are Better Off Red by Jamie Ramsey who finished 2nd in MLB PRO. Reds Country which finished 55th with FANS and Mark My Word by Mark Sheldon which finished 8th under MLB.COM BEAT WRITERS.

More sidebar madness!

I have added Reds blogs twitter feeds to the sidebar now and find it fun to watch what they are all saying in twitter about Major League Baseball and Cincinnati Reds. I have followed these twitter accounts very closely in the past few months and find them to be very knowledgable when it comes to the Reds and baseball in general. Please take some time and look them all over and follow them if you are not already.

Again, the sidebar is put together more to help me keep up to date then for the readers of the blog. I know that having all of this slows the blog down when new people try to load the blog but I hope it is not to bad that it will drive people away from the main goal, to inform Reds fans of what is happening with the team.

Thank you all for reading the blog and hopefully you will follow my twitter account @2r2dblog to find out the latest with the blog and baseball.

Merry Christmas

I would like to wish everyone a very safe Merry Christmas. Santa has already brought me lots of gifts this Christmas (Albert Pujols to the Angels, 2r2d posted on MLBlogs.com main page, Mat Latos, Sean Marshall and another gift I will not mention until I get it.) But there was another gift I wanted (yes, I know I am greedy) before the 25th and that is Prince Fielder signing with a team out of the National League Central Division. I hope that this will happen before the New Year.

Holy sidebar Batman!

I have been busy fixing the sidebar for the blog today while waiting for more news about the Sean Marshall and Travis Wood trade. I decided to move the Cincinnati Reds feeds to the top since this is a blog about that team and I have added a few others. The whole reason behind so much on the sidebar is more for me then for other readers. I like to be informed of everything that is happening in Major League Baseball and this is a very easy and fun way for me to do it.

Many will complain that the blog loads way to slow because of the busy sidebar but like I said before, most of it is to help me stay informed. I hope that this reason does not drive readers away but instead keeps them coming back knowing that they can find all they need on one blog. I for one check the blog a lot and get all of my inspiration for posts from what is seen on the sidebar. I hope others see it the same way I do and keep coming back. I will be taking some feeds off when I see that some blogs are not active for a while and probably add more as I surf the internet and find more.

If you have a MLBlog and would like your blogs feed posted on the sidebar please let me know in the comments. I will gladly add and follow any baseball blog made. I am a Cincinnati Reds fan but I love to read about other MLB teams and what their fans think, so all baseball blogs are welcome.

Another early Christmas gift

Los Angeles Angels made one of my Christmas gifts come early this year when they signed Albert Pujols and got him out of the National League Central Division to help out my favorite baseball team the Cincinnati Reds. Now I am glad to announce that another early gift has fallen into my lap this year. My Cincinnati Reds themed fan blog 2r2d is being featured on MLBlogs. That alone is a great gift, but when I checked it out, I saw that I was right beside Tommy Lasorda’s World. I was giddy like a little school kid for over an hour when I first saw that. I am very honored to be featured on there and happy that people are liking 2r2d. Tommy Lasorda might not ever know who I am but I will never forget him and this great honor will forever be remembered. Thank you MLBlogs.

I have been a Reds fan for many years now and even though I might not ever be able to see a game live because I live in a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada, it has never stopped me from cheering just as loud as the hometown fans. I see a lot of promise in the Reds this year and for many to come and I am very proud to be a fan of baseball in general. It is the greatest sport out there and I enjoy watching it (not only Reds games but any game) any chance I can get.

And just for those keeping track, I still have one Christmas gift wish waiting to come true, Prince Fielder out of the Central Division with a big Red bow! If that comes true, this will go down as the best Christmas this Reds fan has ever had.

A great start

2r2d is #18 in Fan MLBlogs for November 2011 and I am amazed at how well it did. Hopefully we can keep that number going up as the offseason goes on. I am very happy to see that people are reading the blog and that some are even coming back for more. It is nice to be able to share my thoughts on the baseball team I have cheered my whole life. Another great Reds fan blog on the list is Reds Country.

Mark My Word came in 9th in MLB.com Beat Writers and Better Off Red came in 2nd in MLB Pro. If you have not checked out these great blogs please do now, they always have great information posted about the Cincinnati Reds.

Thank you to those that have checked out 2r2d and I hope you continue to come back and check out the posts as the offseason flies by. Tell all of your friends about it and have a wonderful offseason. (my fingers are still crossed for Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder to go to American League teams. To tell you the truth even out of the Central Division would be good right now.)
